June Updates: Boyslut Readings, Book Clubs, Parties, and Noodz!
Pride Month is starting and the Boyslut has some fun things planned.
Pride Month
First off: Happy Pride Month to all who celebrate! I have preemptively blocked the phrase “kink at pride” on Twitter and highly recommend you do the same. No more “discourse” in 2023. Just slutty queers reading slutty books in their slutty thongs on the beach this summer. (You can find me at Riis Beach starting in July, toasting my cheeks.)
Writing Reviews
Boyslut: A Memoir and Manifesto has been out for three weeks now. It’s truly fucking wild that my little baby is in the world, and y’all are reading it! And you’re liking it? What is this world we live in?
Many of you have sent me the kindest messages during and after you read the book, and I cannot thank you enough. It brings me such joy knowing that my book is having a positive impact on your life and reaching the audience who needs it the most.
In that vein, I want to make sure that this book reaches the queers, bisexuals, pansexuals, gays, fags, bears, kinksters, relationship anarchists, non-binary babes, and so on. The best way for that to happen? Writing reviews. If you enjoyed the book, it would mean the world to me if you wrote an honest review on Amazon and Goodreads. (You can just copy and paste! It can be the same review.)
Needless to say, this book isn’t for everyone. It’s going to ruffle some feathers. (Trust me, it already has.) I really want to make sure it reaches its peeps, and sharing your experience with the book can really help make that happen.
June Events
I still got in-conversations, readings, and parties happening across the United States for all of June. (Not included below is my reading at Vassar College this Saturday at 5 pm, for reunion. Ten years out, baby! Alumni, come see me!)
The link for the American Writers Museum in Chicago on June 6. This will be both in-person and online! (RSVP to attend IRL or to get the Zoom link.)
The link for Bureau of General Services Queer Division, Manhattan on June 14. I will be having the in-conversation with my work-wife Jordyn Taylor. (She’s my editor on Sexplain It!) Jordyn’s the executive digital editor at Men's Health magazine and the co-author of Men's Health Best. Sex. Ever.: 200 Frank, Funny & Friendly Answers About Getting It On. Yes, we wrote it together! (No RSVP required. You can just show up!)
Zootown Arts Community Center in Missoula, Montana on June 18. My reading will be part of Montanna Pride. (It’s also my birthday, so I will be tipsy and trying to fuck some sexy cornfed Midwestern men.)
Boyslut Party at the Museum of Sex on Manhattan June 22. Mark your calendars. This is going to be a PARTY, baby. I’ll maybe give a quick little toast, but beyond that, I’ll just be signing books, drinking, and schmoozing! (No RSVP required. You can just show up!)
The link for Novelette Bookstore in Nashville on June 28. Where my Southern queers at? I will be in conversation with the incredible sex educator, Tia Savonne! (This venue does require an RSVP.)
Queer Book Clubs
A few of you have messaged me saying that you had read Boyslut: A Memoir and Manifesto for your book club. I am fucking OBSESSED with that. If you do choose Boyslut for your book club, please do let me know! I’d love to be able to attend by Zoom so you could ask me questions about the book, facilitate conversation, and so on! You can email me at zacharyzaneauthor@gmail.com with “BOOK CLUB” in the subject line.
Noodz
Okay, so I previously said if you purchase ten copies of Boyslut I’ll send you nudes, but honestly, I took some hot fresh nudes that look good, and I think I just want to share them, so if you show me you purchased five copies (great gifts for friends), I’ll send some over.
xoxo,
The Boyslut
