Starting 2023, Accepted Boyslut Submissions Will Pay $250
If I'm making more money, so should you.
My Dear Boysluts,
Starting in 2023, I will be offering $250 for accepted submissions. (Previously, it has been $150.) My intent was always to raise the rate for your work. I know how much time it takes to write a piece. I know how challenging it can be to bare your sexual soul. I also know how underpaid writers are. (I know this rather intimately.)
But in the last few months, I’ve seen a jump in paid subscribers, which means I can pay my writers, you, more. To be honest, I’m really proud of this!
Below I’m reposting the submission requirements. Those have not changed. Still non-fiction, etc.
Oh, and might I add that now is a great time to become a subscriber? You can also gift subscriptions to others. The PERFECT holiday gift for your mom and dad.
Wishing you all a happy, healthy, and sex-filled holiday season. And if you end up sleeping with your homophobic high school bully while back in your hometown, you BETTER submit that story.
xoxo,
The Boyslut
Submission requirements:
I will only accept pieces on spec (i.e., you need to send me the finalized piece, not a pitch). This is because it’s not about what you did; it’s about how you write about what you did. Even the most traditional or vanilla sexual experience can be written in a gripping manner. On the other hand, a wild sexual night of debauchery can be written in a shockingly boring way.
This should not be a summary of all your sexy past encounters. Focus on ONE sexual encounter, going into detail.
Please make sure to “show” not “tell.” This is the main reason I reject pieces. Not sure what I mean? Check this out!
I’m accepting pitches from all sexualities and genders. Despite the name, I view boyslut as being a genderless term. Sexual diversity has been missing from this future publication. While I have a number of wild sexual adventures, I do the things that I do. I have threesomes. I love me a daisy chain. I’m an orgy aficionado. But there are things I don’t do and never could do, no matter how hard I try. That’s where you come in.
Your essays can be anonymous. That’s fine by me.
I’m only accepting non-fiction! I want real sexual experiences that have happened to you. Please do not write about anyone without their consent. Change names when necessary. You may have noticed but the only times I use someone’s real name is after I’ve asked them, and they want me to use their real name to promote their social media/OnlyFans. If you use someone’s real name, I will need an email/text/written confirmation that they consented.
It should be more than about great sex. I have a TON of great sex I don’t write about because there isn’t a story there. I want you to have grown from your sexual experience. I want you to have learned something about yourself. If not that, I want your sexual experience to reveal something about culture or society at large.
The only exception is if you did something fucking insane. If you got sounded by a stranger, I want to hear about it. No lessons needed. Got double-fisted in The Rambles? That’s just really damn hot, and I’m here for it. But otherwise, let’s look for some deeper meaning.
Length: I don’t really care. If you can do it in 600 words, more power to you. But I’d guess most essays will fall in the 1,500-2,000 range. Please, nothing over 2,300 words. I have a life.
For inspiration outside of BOYSLUT, I recommend you read the anthology KINK. While those essays are fiction, that is the style of writing/content that I’m looking for.
Tone: Not only is BOYSLUT extremely graphic while still managing to be tasteful, it’s also fun and playful. I like for things to end on a positive, fun, and uplifting note.
Please send submissions to boyslutsubmissions@gmail.com. UPDATE: I can no longer respond to all submissions. I’m simply getting way too many! If you don’t hear back within a week, that means I have passed on your essay.
Reminder: If I reject your piece, that doesn’t mean you’re not a great writer. It doesn’t mean your story wasn’t hot. What it probably means is that I didn’t connect with it the way I hoped (or I may have a story in the pipeline that’s too similar). You can also always submit something else.
Obvi, I will pay you because I’m not a fucking piece of shit. I’ll pay $150 $250 an article. And I will pay the moment I accept your finalized piece via Paypal. (Let’s go ahead and call it Net-7). So you get your money within a week at the latest. As a freelance writer, I know how infuriating it is not to get paid timely (or at all). I won’t do your dirty like that.
